There's a lot of little boutiques out there that might take a commission.

@Conversed Corruption
I'm always a bit suspicious of this kind of statement. "Hate" tends to get overused, both as a word and a thing.

You can have far worse fetishes and still have something make you vaguely uncomfortable. Maybe something odd you aren't used to wrapping your head around.

Then again I didn't even bother to look through all the comments again so maybe it's totally that bad, I dunno :q

You're fine. The idiots responding here don't know how to simply ignore or blacklist something they don't like so they unnecessarily want their worthless "opinions" heard by spouting hate and bigotry when they themselves are more than likely into fetishes out there (or worse) that make them hypocritical on the spot. It's just a horse boi wearing a dress or simply put, an animal. If the negative comments on this post continue just block the comment thread since you're one of the mods.

This is getting off topic.

Because this was a featured image and the discussion here went far afield during the feature, we've been pretty ok with things getting a bit off topic.

But things are getting VERY far away from the "topic", which is this image. Not someone's grandmother or indoctrination or religion.

The "topic" is a cute pony boy wearing a cute dress.

So let's please get back on topic.

And if you want to discuss all of those other things, that's what the forums are for. Please feel free to link to your forum thread here if you do move a conversation to the forums.

It's not just religion. Any worldview will take on the attributes you've described.

The world is an infinitely complex thing, and that's the beauty of it. But the are infinite ways to model something infinitely complex, but you have to pick one to make sense of the barrage of sensory experience the brain is washed with.

That model you use to understand reality becomes a worldview, and everything you ever perceive will have to fit into that worldview somehow, or you'll have no means by which to perceive it at all.

The major reason people find it so hard to change their personal beliefs and moral is because they make the mistake of making it apart of their identity. When you make an ideology or virtue apart of your identity, it becomes what you describe yourself as, and indeed within your own mind it becomes an important factor in decisions. Think of it as a perk or trait system in a game, almost. When you play a game and you get a new perk or trait, that changes you forever. It changes how you function and act.

Unlike in a game, though, the identity pieces you collect in real life aren't always beneficial. Or rather, they can be less beneficial for more altruistic goals. It's in this vein that we approach the dilemma that many people of older generations have to combat with, most especially if they're fundamentally religious; and most of the older religious are. Many off these beliefs and ideologies that're fully associated with the more major religions of the world focus around what would encompass something I mentioned before; the B.I.T.E. Model. It's a table consisting four different apspects of cult-like behavior that, when more are confirmed to be associated with a group, more heavily suggest that this specific group may be a cult. However, what we really want to focus on is what these four points stand for. Behavior Control, Information Control, Thought Control, and Emotional Control.

All of the major religions of the world, not counting different sects as these are different interpretations of their respective religions, follow the B.I.T.E Model nearly exactly. All of them have doctrines that seek to control one's behavior around others, the information they take in, the thoughts they have, and the emotions they may feel. They do this through instilling sets of beliefs or virtues to follow in order to further the desires of the religion, and what they've perceived to be a higher power. If we go back to my issue with my grandmother, it's her fundamentalist Christianity that has caused her to behave extremely odd toward me and treat me different. It's caused her to take in information that is only approved by her religion and discredit actual facts because they don't align. It's caused her to think differently, almost completely devoid of rationality, when it comes to topics that even slightly touch on any topic that her religion has touched on. And lastly, it's caused her to change how she should interpret her emotions that are innately within most humans, and completely forget about altruism.

The vast majority of older people who're also religious were indoctrinated at a much younger age when they weren't able to protest or were forced to do something they may not have wanted to do. This typically instills a more harsh or strict code of conduct in these individuals, and this is why when you look at how many religions are decreasing in number strength, you see more and more radicals arise as they attempt to save a belief system that is either not being adopted by others for a number of very legitimate and factual reasons, or laws prevent them from carrying out their plans of indoctrination.

This brings us back to the topic at hand, which revolves around Nit's grandmother. The reason she's now unable to change her beliefs without serious and extremely difficult critical thinking is because her religion has instilled strict control over her behavior, information, thoughts, and emotions. None of this has anything to do with age, unless you look at that and cross-reference how long they've been adhering to these beliefs. Longer times typically mean more concrete stances in which case it's just not worth it to tell these older people that they're wrong because they will flat out tell you they're not willing to change. It's at this point the only thing that will work, and indeed the only thing people should use at any point, is the Socratic Method of discussion to trigger critical thinking. More than likely, though, this will usually end in it taking too much of your own personal time, and this is something even I must say isn't worth it.

It's important to remember that these people we're talking about are still human. It's the ideologies and belief systems that have preyed upon them that have made them this way. In no way should you attack these people purely for that. If they break a law or are assaulting you, that's a different situation. The best course of action is to let natural selection of ideas and opinions take it's course and these belief systems will slowly get to the point where they're not influential or at best extremely small. Let these individuals believe what they want to believe, but do not let that influence you past consideration for purposes of critical thought.

Yeah. To be fair, maybe they don't understand the difficulties of living with someone who has a personality disorder or abusive personality.

You just can't treasure something that's just always so ugly to you.
