Pinkie Pie's Panzerfuchs
[bq]I don’t think Lauren knew they even existed until the fans ran away with them, by which time she was getting ready to leave.[/bq]

Nice pure assumption without any insight of how the staff worked back then. Oh, don't look at me. Neither am I. But I think that your statement is based on solid ground. And by the way, the ship started with season 1 "Swarm of the Century" and I'm pretty sure Lauren Faust was aware of it. If I ever have the honor to meet her, I will ask her politely. Then we both are sure. :-)

[bq]Just because you wouldn’t do these things with a friend doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.[/bq]

Because you do these things doesn't mean that it count for this ship. Wink, wink. (^_-) Ironically you suggest as much because of your own experience like I do. So you now your best friends for 23 years. I know your best friends for 23 years. I know my best female friend for 28 and my best male friends for 22 years. So what? Did I win!? Duh... Really don't make some kind of dick contest out of this... That's awkward.

[bq]But nobody on staff has ever confirmed that Lyra and Bon Bon are a legitimate couple in their view[/bq]

Neither someone deny that they are a legitimate couple. :-D You see, this kind of logic works in both ways. So it's pointless.

[bq]saying "we all know what’s really going on here" and taking it upon yourself to countermand established canon (barely there as it may be) to write it the way you want to see it.[/bq]

You really should stop to put words into somebody's mouth. I didn't said that and if someone said this before to you, well, maybe you should go and tell this person your opinion. And not me.

[bq]I would accept it if someone, anyone involved with the show acknowledged it.[/bq]

So, you're someone who needs confirmation to belief in things? What next? Should I proof you that god exists? Or not exists? Aren't you able to cheerish something and accept the fact that other people don't see it your way until some higher authority come and says: THIS IS CANON! :-D

Seriously, the problem is not the fact if or if not LyraBon is canon or not. The problem is, that there will be not confirmation from Hasbro, because it could damage the trademark. LTGB couples aren't common as they should be. Not in a kids show. As I said before in this thread, I wish it would be different. But it's not. And I highly doubt that Hasbro will make it canon before G4 ends. Actually I doubt that they ever will. But I don't have a problem with that, because as long as there isn't a "No!" there is still room for this headcanon. And the ship can sail further on. I don't need some confirmation as long as there is no negation. Only my personal humble opinion. With the same legitimacy as your wish for confirmation. Just don't get bitter because you don't get it. ;-)
