I forgot about that. I knew about the cats and her own soldier, but where did she kill a pony? And she hasn’t killed anything in the show, unless you interpret a certain way what she did to Zecora in the alternate timeline that never happened.

Hidden standards, since she hasn’t outright said she won’t kill, but has said many times she’d “destroy” or another similar word that is a euphemism for kill. Actions speak louder than words, though. She’s never followed through completely on any of her deadly threats.

So in that regard, we can speculate Chrysalis somehow prevented the other photographer from coming.
 
Probably, most likely passed herself off as the mare who was the photographer by hypnotizing her and taking her place… most subtle villains who are clever and have such a power usually do that.

To be fair, only Twilight actually knew Cadance personally out of the Mane 6 and Shining Armor was being hypnotized into submission.
 
That is true.
 
Changelings have been shown to turn into “original” ponies numerous times, like with Thorax or Ocellus. Also, the ladybug cutie mark and that pony’s eye color does seem to imply that that pony is a creation of Chrysalis herself and doesn’t really exist.
 
The problem is that Twilight expected an official photographer from the Canterlot Historical Society who never came.  
Instead Chrysalis appeared (too late and with a camera).

That was good acting, only poor research. She didn’t know how Cadance was normally, so she couldn’t reproduce it properly. Despite that, she managed to fool all but one pony.

In the original credits she’s only credited as Chrysalis. In the Finnish credits this pony actually had her own VA, but was only referred to as “the Photographer”.
