Maul survived because he drew upon his anger and the darkside of the Force to sustain his life. The darkside is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
Yeah, but he survived it. If you cut someone in half and they don’t die, clearly something is working in their favor.
Because Maul did not know how to use the high ground so Kenobi used the low ground to his advantage.
I believe Obi Wan obtained the favor of the High Ground from Maul at that point.
But what about with Maul? Maul had the high ground, and Obi wan still bisected him at the waist.
