I have no idea how people are seeing that thing as part of the back leg. Am I stupid? It has a different color, it’s shaded separately, it casts a shadow on the actual back leg, and even without that, the shape itself makes no sense as part of a leg. What is happening? Why is it curved toward the front and then turns flat at the bottom? Why does it stop before it reaches the back edge of the leg? What angle do I have to imagine the leg being at for this to make sense? Help??

It looks like that because that leg is segmented unlike the other back leg which looks like 1 thing and because the top portion has a much larger orange area, making it an eye-catcher, and the bottom portion has darker shading, making it stand out less.
