The ‘story’ behind it is it’s a book the girls put together to help Twilight Sparkle adjust to switching schools. Helping her get to know them a bit better. So each page is a topic and the girls answer the questions.

I found it quite good myself. I don’t want to post more because I’d rather people bought it. But some interesting things include:  
Sunset never leaves the house without her water bottle  
The CMC are explicitly referred to as freshmen, clearing up things since I know some people thought they were younger (despite them clearly being in high school in the movies)  
The school’s English teacher is named “Miss Clippity Clop”  
AJ’s favorite class is History
