I interpreted it more that Twilight is more approachable and less interpersonally intimidating.

That was one of the key problems with Twilight’s ascension back then. Twilight was supposed to stay Twilight and Twilight just isn’t a princess as a character so they kind of ignored that aspect of her for the sake of continuing to tell their stories with her except for things like giving her a castle thing. Glad they at least admit it, tho.

I like Starlight in this season so far. She hasn’t done any major screw ups, she’s calmer and more confident.
 
More importantly, Twi and Starlight now has a relationship where they’re comfortable with each other and treat each other as equals.
 
I’m also laughing because the way I see it: Starlight just implies she can take on Twilight any day of the week, because Twilight is not at “princess level.”

We need an episode where Twilight tries out being a “princess” princess in a manner either reminiscent of A Royal Problem and/or Fake It ’Til You Make It, get some regal respect around here instead of condescending wrist twirling.
