Precisely. I could understand Rarity not wanting to put Fluttershy in the position to deal with Manehattan ponies. Asking Pinkie (who is a customer service expert) and Twilight (who organized the shop in the first place) makes sense.
 
But Rainbow Dash? The pony who admitted to not knowing anything about fashion?  
Applejack? Who had a full episode centered around not understanding Rarity’s type of fashion?  
Big Mac!? Granny Smith!? Cheerilee? The CMC!?

Didn’t even make sense that Fluttershy was the last choice anyway. She has a bit of fashion knowledge herself and can be assertive and in charge when she needs to be. Except for maybe Pinkie - who works in a shop herself - she should’ve actually been first choice.

I figured since she’s showing like we saw in Honest Apple, she’d be at the Royal Fashion Thingy with Rarity, showing off her own designs.

I was literally screaming this at my TV during the whole episode.

Fuck The Chanel Corporation for threatening to sue Hasbro for the parody of Coco Chanel’s name and likeness.

I’m fairly certain that if Coco was available to help, she would’ve. As the comics show, she has her own shop now, she’s probably much more busy.

I always figured Coco’s the one who usually runs the shop anyway. She was Rarity’s first choice for the opening, she just happened to be sick for it is all.
