Being one’s own mare is different from having a healthy relationship with one’s family. I like my grandma… Those two points may be unrelated; I’ve judgement issues due to lack of sleep at time of writing. XD

If you’re right, that’s pretty messed up. They should be promoting having a great relationship with parents. Honestly, where would any of us be without them?
In the long run, I like to think backstory wise that Sunset has grown up alone, and hence why she just tried so hard to get attention and recognition, even if she took it too far to an extent, and what made her feel hurt when she felt “betrayed” by Princess Celestia in The Fall of Sunset Shimmer and thus escaped into the mirror. This image really captures that kind of loneliness she must have held in her heart.

Understandable. I just find it odd that sometimes there’s certain villains you’re suppose to hate that then wind up being loved the most.I find it weird. Just saying.
