No, it’s really not. Almost every incident that gets called a ~mass shooting~ in the US is either gang violence or end-stage domestic violence, not the kind of high profile massacre perpetrated by a lone psycho going for maximum bodycount that those who say things like “mass shootings have become so routine” are trying to make people think of. That happens fewer than ten times a year.

I’ve never been crying or getting angry over this. Honestly, I had expected this much from 4chan. I am merely disappointed; you are welcome to interpret this however you want, but for me, it will always be in bad taste. Also, my most recent comments in this thread didn’t even have anything to do with this post; I was mainly addressing the fact that people were incorrectly assuming I was new to the internet, whether as a joke or as a serious claim.

Whats done is done. No use crying over it, and getting angry at people who make jokes about this solves nothing. If you want to fight about something, then spend your time fixing the problem instead of telling everyone how bad they are for making a joke on the internet.
 
Also interestingly enough, America has had a proud history of school shootings. Dating all the way back to 1764.

And, more relevantly, that you think comedy and tragedy are unrelated. Personally, I feel far better around friends who are comfortable enough with life’s difficulties to joke about them than I do around strangers, acquaintances, or even family members who insist on tragedy being held at arm’s length. You can’t move on from pain without learning to face it first.
