They do. In fact, only Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie didn’t get a love interest. Aside from Twilight/Flash and Sci-Twi/Timber, there’s also Sunset/Flash, Rarity/Ragamuffin, Applejack/Dirk Thistleweed, Fluttershy/Sandalwood, Cadance/Shining Armor, and Spike/Princess Thunderguts.
There’s also background couples. Lyra/Bonbon, Wiz Kid/Curly Winds, Derpy/Bulk Biceps, Big Mac/Cheeriliee, and Alizarin Bubblegum/Celery Stalk.

Also I don’t really follow the “nerdy girl gets the dreamy boy” trope they’re using.
 
Like…why is that a thing? When has that EVER been a thing? Usually it goes the other way (the outgoing, sporty boy ignores the nerdy girl until he sees something in her that no one else does and gets smitten). The nerdy character is the one who’s typically too preoccupied to pay any mind to guys.

twilight can fall in love whoever is not the same. mordecai had girlfriends and drake and josh had girlfriends break their relationships to follow their own path and that’s life.

To be fair, I don’t think all of Legend of Everfree is bad.
 
The motive of Twilight still being affected by her transformation, and how it stacks with her social issues, was quite interesting and well written. (especially if we consider it without the moments with Timber disrupting that storyline).
 
Midnight was still a quite intimidating antagonist.
 
How the bond between Sunset and (human) Twilight was handled was also very good, especially how this bind is crucial to overcoming Midnight, Twilight’s fears and Gaea.
 
It’s only that Timber,or rather, most visibly his romance with Twilight. drags down the movie.
 
So maybe it would be better to make Timber or TimberTwi Noncanon. Especially that I think one could cut the romance out of the movie, and it would run, except for one moment, fluidly.
 
Especially seeing how it doesn’t affect anything, but takes a large part of the screentime.
 
Indeed, even Tv Tropes noticed how perfectly it fits the Romantic Plot Tumor trope, as it takes up a lot of screentime, affecting little to nothing in the end.
 
It’s notable as like tv tropes noted, this time could be used to develope Gloriosa more (who is ridiculously underdeveloped for the main antagonist). Or have at all any resolution to the Filthy Ritch storyline.
 
People have even put the quite realistic theory higher ups forced the writers to add the TimberTwi romance (as they think such things drive views and sales), whuch forced the writers to cut most of Gloriosa’s characterisation, and the resolution with Filthy Ritch. And that would also explain at least a lot of the problems with the romance, seeing it would be then writen at the last moment.

A problem, at least to me, is that angrybrony is a hypocrite - if he was fair about the reasons he hates Starlight (and Flash) for, he would also hate Timber. As most of his accusations towards Starlight, fit Timber more, or at least as much…

Twilight fallen for him as love at first sight. Despite being shown as otherwise difficulties socialising, butvwith Timber she was writen like a shallow romance protagonist teen girl in love, having no problems flirting back and foth with him.
Especialy seeimg even right before and after it, Twilight was shown as only really thinking aboutvher fwars of Midnight and Magic. But one eye contact with Timber, and she’s instantly smitten.
And how she is calmed instantly by Timber, but latter goes back ti distressed, undermines the portrayal of her fears and pain, and many people see her as coming of as whiny uf anything. Again thanks to the romance with Timber.
And the Romance with Timber, started Twilight’s transformation into a shallow boy crazy teen.
And it will go further as she again will falm for a guy she just met, in the new novel discussed bellow.
Despite romancing Timber, ie she will cheat on him, or be VERY close to it.

Flash was shown having doubts, sadness, and you know doing things recently, outside of being a live interest. He also gave Sunset advice in Legend of Everfree.
 
And what exaggeration?
 
Can you really claim Timber hiding Gloriosa is behind the strange things, didn’t cause Twilight to nlame herself for it, and feel worse and worse? As it’s a part if the movie. Yes she felt bad nefore, but thanks to Timber, Twilight felt worse and worse, unt it reached critical mass and Midnight almost took her over.
 
And what did Timber do, that mattered for Twilight? As him calming her down, only worked for their scenes together, and outside them, Twilight constantly got worse. Thanks to Timber. So no, it doesn’t matter.
 
As you remember what role also Timber had with Twilight overcoming her magic phobia and Midnight? None, absolutely none.

And no Timber x Human Twilight is not better - they pretty much crush at each other, from their first eye contact.
Not to mention, Timber actually caused a visible part of Twilight’s trouble in Legend of Everfree - him hiding Gloriosa is behind the magical trouble in the camp, causes Twilight to blame herself for it, and that she get’s worse, and worse, to the point Midnight almost takes over. Not to mention, this also makes Timber partly responcible for all the danger Gloriosa put others in, often in life threatening danger. This could be avoided easily if Timber didnt cover for his sister.
Yes, it isn’t intentional on Timber’s part, but he still caused it, nd it isn’t even brought up in the movie, just sweeped under the rug, and forgotten, seemingly as the writers themselves noticed how badly it looks, and want the viewers to forget about it. As realistically, human Twilight (ie as nt person) would be angry at Timber for that…seeing how much pain and distres it cost her.
Yes, Twilight had issues with guilt and fear of Magic before, but Gloriosa and Timber (if accidentally), made it much worse.
This is comes of as especially bad, seeing Timber only notices Twilight feels bad, when she’s at her literall worst, but quikly forgets about it, and has no role, no at all with Twilight getting over her fears and overcoming Midnight.
 
Timber done in the end nothing good for Twilight, by his own free willed stupidity, caused Twi a lot of harm, to the point she almost lost herself to Midnight.
 
And no him calming Twilight, doesn’t count - Twilight despite that, got constantly worse, thanks to Timber.
 
It’s only thanks to sh*t tier writing this didn’t at least endanger the TimberTwi romance…
