Suppose it depends on if the person writing the situation makes Spike utterly incompetent like in spike at your service, or if they treat him with respect and stick to his actual character.
@Daneasaur
Not really. Spike works harder than all of them combined when you think about it. Just cause he’s small doesn’t mean he lacks strength or dexterity. He’s attempted apple bucking before and helped make cider. So AJ having a relationship alongside work isn’t a issue. Besides, she has zero off days where she can just relax. If she’s not doing anything she gets restless and agitated. That’s where Spike comes in.
And I’d really like Rarity to realize that Spike takes her teasing and flirting WAY more seriously than she does, because I’m not sure she sees it and it’s a big part of the problem.
@Scrounge
I really hope he doesn’t do that. Waiting and thirsting like a sucker. Especially when there are plenty of mares, drakes, and changelings for the choosing.
Also the idea of both of them thinking about Rarity. I like it. Makes me love Applejack and Spike even more.
This just kinda gets sadder the more I look at it. Just the idea of Spike not really being able to not-wish it was Rarity he was with. It really would be painful not just for him, but anyone he ended up with.
What makes you so sure he would end up with someone? He might just keep waiting for Rarity until it’s too damn late.

Sure he’d be caring and trustworthy, but that “spark” from Spike wouldn’t be there and they would have to live with the fact that Spike couldn’t give them 100% of that love he has.

Trying to have a relationship with AJ is asking for trouble since she’s a workaholic and spends 95% of her time doing said work on the farm.
I hope not too.

You mean fall deeper into seclusion?
Probably will be his end game in the true canon, knowing the writers.
No, I mean he might not even do that.
That’s actually what I’m thinking. He’d “hang out” or “play along” with others, but he’d not really be with them in his heart.
