I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that I’m perfectly fine with this…

I find this to be a truly beautiful, realistic depiction of a magical unicorn pony.
 
Although I must admit - before I looked down at the tags, I mistakenly believed it was an older Sweetie Belle instead. :)

I do think this is very beautiful, because it’s so uncanny. And I’ve always had a very, very personal relationship with the uncanny. Since I was a child, I’ve been very scared of the uncanny, as a kid I would often times suspect that everything is unreal and shabby, as if reality itself is little more than a cheap theatre set in a local high school. It went to the point where I would blame my parents for making me take part in the great charade of this reality, which though it might appear real, it’s uncanny aspects led me to believe otherwise.  
After going to bed I would often times stay awake listening to the murmuring of my parents in post-bedtime conversation and imagining them as giant preying mantis-like things hovering above my prone body, experimenting on me for unknown (and unknowable) reasons.  
The uncanny valley may, at points, be mistakes on the behalf of the artist, but they absolutely have a place in art.

I think this is a clever mix between realism and humanization. She has many human like expressions and that’s what makes it a little uncomfortable for most people. This is truly alien and beautiful.

Well… She looks alien, which kinda, likely the point. After all, they’re small, extradimensional, magical, sapient, talking equines, in other words aliens.

On one hand, I like the realism. On the other, it’s really creepy. Looks like a human with huge forehead and deformed face.
