So, I think the first time that Cyan’s parents hire her is when she is 16, so now she is 23.
 
Also I think I can combine your idea with mine. Aureai was 16 when she still studying she want to have a job she could save a lot of money she have a dream to travel around the world, but all of the jobs available is either have a lot of hours work that would left her exhausted, the skill that she don’t have, doesn’t pay enough for the university that would attended or just well…. “disgusted” her. But then she found Cyan’s parents, though at first couple of days of work was overwhelming because of the lack of experience. But Cyan shown that he actually enjoyed being with her, Aureai felt moved for it and decided to stay.
 
Also for the name of the shipping. It’s settled the name of the shipping is “Aurecyan”

Heh, I think I’m going ending to be more flexible, because in comparison to Cyan that has a established shape of body that suggests a specific range of age, Aureai can be older and a bit of her history and interests can be adapted, though I still incline more to the idea that she met Cyan at a younger age so it looks more likeable why she developed that kind of affection to him. Maybe it was when she was about to age 16 in her very first job (in which she insisted to Cyan’s parents that she could handle it and them gave her the chance).
 
I like to think that Aureai was still studying when she met Cyan, she precisely needed bits to also accomplish dreams, travel around the world and start to save since that moment so she could have enough in the future, though I can add as well that she been looking for jobs before and nothing was appealing, and to care for a child still was an idea that made her feel nervous and it wasn’t originally exactly her ‘dreamt job’. I also like to imagine that at the beginning, even if she could handle situations, the first couple of days was a a bit of a struggle for her –it was her first time taking care of a foal– and almost decided to give up and try to search for something easier, but when Cyan shown that she actually enjoyed being with her, Aureai felt moved for it and decided to stay.

Well, when I said that she could be at 14-16. I said it maybe, because the chance is higher than if she is 12. But I think it’s still bit unlikely, though if is at age 16-18 then sure Cyan’s parents would not have a lot of problem hire her. She is almost graduated or graduated from secondary school (do in Equestria pony have a secondary school?)
 
In the past. In my thoughts she is 18 when she met Cyan at first time, Aureai was graduated from her secondary school, but she don’t have a lot of money to continue to enroll to higher school. Well, it is true that “young” can be thought in many ways and it’s not enough specific, maybe I can update it someday to make it more clear, though I won’t state some age.
 
And maybe 12 years old is quite young, but I needed as well to justify why would someone hire her at that age if now in my interpretation she should be 19 years old (perhaps enough mature, playful, and with energy to handle situations). But if you want, I can extend her age at 21 in order that she met Cyan when she was 14.

I don’t know what you mean by “young”?. but when someone referring as Young is they usually referring as “Young Adult” which is have age between 20-40 years old, while Adult or middle age is 40-64. So honestly 23-25 year old of my headcanon still categorize as “Young adult” (even for young adult, she still at very early stage).
 
Also do you think that Cyan’s parents? would hire somepony that are 12 years old? though if she is 14-16 maybe but 12? I am very doubtful.

Well, now that I have time and tranquility, I can think her age better. My headcanon is actually similar, though when I thought originally the age of Aureai I was only having in mind my age at the creation of the current OC design (16 years old, leaving the colors aside), and for me it sound like something possible. Though if she’s 16 – 17 year old it also means that should have a teenager body, and that’s something that been formally introduced this year in “The Perfect Pear”, before that we only been able to see Fluttershy in S1 with a similar body but most of the persons (included myself) thought that she was possibly taller, but now I think that she’s the older of all the mane six.
 
So (for me) this would be how the ages approximately goes: 1 - 3 years old (baby) -> 4 - 7 years old (toddler) -> 8 - 13 years old (kid) -> 14 - 17 years old (teenager) -> +18 years old (adult)
 
In the description of her I always stated that she was a young mare, so I think in my headcanon I’m going to settle Aureai at 18 – 20 years old. If Aureai is 19 years old and Cyan 12, then Aureai met him when she was 12 maybe. At least for me, this will be my interpretation, which is not so far at yours, but hmm… I’d like it better if we can have each other a similar story, I can think that Aureai in those ages wanted some bits for her own and there was no job available for her due of her age, until it found the the parents of Cyan and she decided to try; she probably was enough mature and had enough energy to take care of a very powerful pony, but also enough young to be very playful.

Five years old Sweetie Belle and yet Rarity already have an Adult body. So Rarity should be at least 18 at that time. Also by my headcanon by season 4-5 Sweetie Belle is 11-12 because her voice change at that season. So judging that Rarity should at least 24-25 now. Though the age of mane six vary in each other like maybe in range of like from 2 years younger to 2 years older.
 
So yeah that’s the reason why I think now Aureai is at her mid 20s.
 
Hmmm, about the shipping name. Well in the past I would choose Aurelightning. But because well Emerald Lightning and Green Lightning, it can lead to a lot of confusion. Hmmm maybe Cyanai and Aurecyan, though I like the pronounce of Aurecyan.

Well. in my idea that Aureai is 16-18 when his parents hired her at first, so now judging by that time She is 23-25 years old now, while Cyan is 12, why because she looks she have the same age with Twilight Sparkle and in my headcanon she are pretty much at her mid 20s.

Well, it has sense because both Cyan and Aureai are from Manehattan, I remember that months ago you also said something like that and I was fine with the idea, hmm… If Aureai knew Cyan since he was 5 and now (if I recall correctly) should be 12 years old, in my idea Aureai is maybe 16 years old, so she must have been 9 when met him, and probably as well it’s the reason why Aureai also been also developing feelings since childhood.

Well… it looks evident from many images that they are close, though the only confirmation was “leave it for your imagination”. There are as well various persons that shipped both so I think it wouldn’t be a problem, and if someone feels a bit ‘insecure’ about being a relationship between a young mare and a colt, we could explain why is like that.
