If other ships are like two spheres on two planes that slant toward each other, StarBurst is like two powerful magnets on planes that slant away from each other. They actively search for reasons and ways to spend time with each other and be close to each other even though they haven’t yet found much common ground.
 
At this rate, these two magnets are probably going to dig to each other. Screw the things trying to keep them apart.
 
That’s why I ship it.

Rewatching the Crystalling and Uncommon Bond back to back…it’s really hard not to ship StarBurst. I really want to see StarBurst to happen.
 
StarTrix might be a fun duo; they’re catty, they’re full of bad ideas, and they play off each other so well–I see why people like StarTrix, I like it too!  
TwiBurst might even be the more logical ship than StarBurst. Heck, even in the finale, Twilight and Sunburst two seem to make a real good team and Sunburst always takes Twilight’s side.
 
But StarBurst…is awkward and weird. They started off their reunion as adults with lies, and then we find out that ship has no common bond to glue it together?! On the surface, StarBurst just wouldn’t work. The odds are against it. But seeing Starlight and Sunburst trying so hard to be friends despite all that, kinda makes me want to root for them.

Based on the Crystalling episode and even in Uncommon Bond, their confesions are anything but awkward. They hold their feelings back as much as possible until it bursts out like a broken emotional dam. At least that’s what I’ve noticed.

I want this to happen in Season 8. Those two deserve a happy ending, and it will be the perfect Book End to Starlight’s arc.

Something tells me that if they ever go out in a date, starlight would be the most awkward. I mean, she’s crazy to see him in the episode, while he manages to keep his cool around her
