Yeah, this pretty much confirms that Rainbow Rocks’s prologue is CANON (as is Equestria Girls) to Friendship is Magic.
 
Star Swirl the Bearded did banish them to the Human World. The legend just wanes over time and overlooks their friends.

The best solution to a problem is the easiest one. Separating the series into Canon and Not Canon piles is harder than just accepting that it’s all canon. Why waste brain cells? For that matter, why waste other people’s brain cells?

First, there is a huge difference between those statements (as Darth Sonic has so kindly pointed out); that’s clear as day to anyone. Second you just contradicted yourself again in agreeing with Marik’s statement. This whole time you’ve been advocating for a system where EQG is both canon and non-canon at the same time, but now you agree with Marik’s suggestion that it would be easiest to just accept it all as canon? Which is it that you actually believe in? My brain is hurting.

Agreed with this.
 
This scene was written in such a way that it would require no knowledge of EG. I sincerely doubt that’s ever going to change–that the show is ever going to require you to have kept up with EG, or to even know anything about EG at all. Therefore, the likelihood of the show ever referencing EG directly is extremely low.

I’m sorry, but how exactly is that not a contradiction? Those two statements couldn’t be more different. While it could be argued that an option like that does exist, the show certainly isn’t intentionally trying to setup the canon like that.

All I’m saying is that Equestria Girls will never be confirmed as canon in Friendship is Magic, and it still hasn’t.
 
That’s because there is no argument. EG is most certainly canon, but you’ll never see evidence of humans or high schools in the main series. They’re set it all up so we can both be right.

I think you’re taking something Big Jim probably said way too seriously and/or literally. If that was true, I could argue Twilight isn’t canonically a princess. Except she is. And we’re reminded of it every time she appears.
 
Like it or not, the Dazzlings are canon. As such, the odds are that EqG is also canon.

I am trying to listen. The problem is that the things you say are just really confusing. For instance, what you’re explaining to me now is not what you said me to earlier:

Tell me, how exactly am I supposed to get from that to “everyone can choose to accept it or not”? Moreover, why is it so important that there be an option for EQG to remain not canon to the show anyway? Is it really that painful to accept EQG as canon? As I’ve already stated multiple times now, individuals who dislike the EQG franchise are by no means obligated to take interest in or even watch EQG simply because the series now canon.

I’m not sure if that’s really reliable anymore given the time past, new evidence, & his generally not being involved in the Equestria Girls subfranchise.
 
& even then he said “As far as I know” in regards to whether EqG’s canon, which means while he’s unsure he was erring on the side of canon…
 
It’s also possible that he just means you don’t have to watch it *shrug*.
 
 
Basically it’s not really all that helpful to either side of the argument…
