Even as a kid and a fan of the show, I thought it was a pretty shit movie growing up. Literally the only thing I liked was Mewtwo who wound up being one of my favorite Pokemon

Considering some movies I like get low scores, and ones I don’t get high, I never really gave much regard to Rotten Tomatoes anyways.

Already happen before with another franchise
 

I mean, all things considered, it’s a fair consensus. The score is more or less what I expected

I enjoyed it, but I can understand how non-fans might not dig it.  
There are some serious pacing issues, and a lot of the dialogue is very on-the-nose: good for little kids, but kind of grating for adults.

Critic vs. Audiance, overall it still better than any of DCEU movies so far(Not counting Wonder Woman{the only good one})

People need to understand that unbiased critics who know nothing about the fandom are going to watch it more closely than someone who is a major fan of the franchise. Therefore, what they say is more than likely going to be far more accurate than someone who is a major fanatic and will love MLP no matter what.

I wish I could go to see the movie right now…

i would want to agree with that but i have read many of the overtly negative reviews. they are just begin negative for the sake of negativity or, even worse, pretend to know jack shit about the show.

Honestly, trying to sell this movie to a bunch of critics that really don’t care for the property was an uphill battle from the start.
 
Hasbro doesn’t really care for critic reviews as evidenced by the Transformers film series. The only real “victory” is if the film does well with its box-office take.

I say 4/5.  
The story is average and drags it down.  
But the animation is beautiful. The critics griping about the animation is what baffles me.

as much as i enjoyed the movie personally, i’d say that’s a fair enough assessment on an objective level.

You all need to chill the hell out and care about your own opinions of the film, not what random people on the internet say

yeeeeaaahhh, I think the fans are over praising this movie a bit. It’s really more of a 7 out of 10.
