No no, completely different continuity. The races aren’t segregated due to racism (or at least, just racism). They literally live in different dimensions.
At least in the concept stuff. Subject to change and all that.
@Selaphiel
It’s obviously going to be a new continuity. But at the same time, there’s still a possibility that some concepts might carry over to the new show like some of the locations.
Take Transformers for example. The first show, G1 has the robots come from the planet Cybertron and the lore revolves them having a war on it before eventually carrying that war over to earth. Nearly every adaption that came out after G1 followed a similar theme.
So it’s not too farfetched to believe that some locations from G4 will be remade into G5, especially considering some of the leaked concept art mentioned Ponyville, Cloudsdale, and the Evertree Forest.

I think that might have been the point. I’m no mind reader but considering the Mane 6 still are all different races in the G5 concept art, if they were to go with that idea, it could have their way of saying segregating is not a good or healthy idea.
That being said, since it was just a concept idea, that might not even be set in stone completely.

I’ve seen some of the concept art for G5 and the background and location artwork looks really beautiful. It can still likely change but that was more than enough to keep me curious, excited, and cautiously optimistic over it.
@darknessRising24
It’s supposed to be a show with lots of world-building, but red-tape, executive meddling and time constrains can easily nullify their plans.

The one on the coast of the Farthest Reaches, I always assumed. It’s a very good match for how Tempest’s hometown was depicted in her flashback – the style of the buildings and the roofs is pretty much the same.
