Same, but I try not to let the bad/strange fans ruin them for me. Every fanbase & series has their obnoxious fans.
Stuff and behavior like that make me regret liking both franchises at times.
That’s why I find it ironic, I always see bronies, and Sonic fans do similar things too. Like the bronies whom only like the first two seasons act very similar to those that only like the first 3 Sonic Genesis/Megadrive games.
I once saw a guy on DA demonizing Sonic fans constantly for making “horrible recolor fan-characters.” His DA gallery was literally full of recolored official MLP art. (That he didn’t even draw, just found on Google, or something, and recolored badly with a paint program.)

No offense, but with how the brony/MLP fanbase is sometimes, you’re all really in no place to “shame” Sanik-fans.

To me, I think it’s more based on how Sonic is used in MLP fan art. Given to the right person and it’ll turn out fine. But others could go over the top with it.
