Yes they did…offscreen, and then the ones in Ponyville blew it two seconds later by acting completely OOC around Starlight, which started a chain of events that got that victory overturned pretty quick.
They basically took over in season 06 finalle.
You’re kidding, right? Even in the show, the changelings couldn’t act their way out of a paper bag. Chrysalis couldn’t pull off Cadance worth a damn, so it’s only the fact that that most of the mane 6 didn’t know her and that Celestia was being an inattentive moron that she got away with it at all. Then in season 6, I seriously wanna know how they managed to pull off snagging nearly every important character in the show, since the group imitating the mane 6 plus Spike weren’t doing that great a job either.
