@AstralFrankie
When the first chapter ended and the fake spa disappeared, some people asked how was that possible, since Blue Nile was an earth pony and magic was beyond her reach, then Steve said that maybe she had a friend. After considering all the background references, it seems to be true, I guess we will know a lot more by the end of this second chapter.
@Wishy Washy
To put it simply, the comic does not follow the canon timeline all the time, several things are done on purpose for the sake of the story. I know, the drama queen is quite clever, but not in this story, she even said at the start that she was starting to feel less clever for unknown reasons, it is all done for the sake of the comic.
@Background Pony #512D
Actually it could still be possible, unless all those references were pointless, which I think they are not.
You see, I watched again a certain song about a certain chaotic being singing about getting a glass of water, it all fits to say the least. Even at the end of the first chapter, it was strongly implied that Blue Nile was not doing this alone.
Honestly, yes. There’s being a troll and mildly inconveniencing ponies, which is typically what he does, then there’s literally aiding and abetting someone in the torture and/or traumatization of someone who’s supposed to be a friend. Albeit, not bosom buddies but certainly not enemies.
If this comic is pre-Tirek, then sure let it ride. Discord proved in that arc he could be swayed and turn to the darkside.
If this comic is post-Tirek, then no he should have learned his lesson. He officially stopped being evil rather then risk Fluttershy’s friendship.
Discord had Twilight and Cadance face off against a Tatzlewurm. But they could still fly around and use their magic. He also sicced some DnD creations on Spike and Big Mac when he got angry at them, and they did feel real pain. But, at the very least they were able to move around and defend themselves and i don’t see how anything Rarity’s done so far could have personally upset him.
No, if he’s even partially responsible for this i would feel he’s gone too far.
They were probably too busy being distracted by Rainbow Dash. and her bee-stung ass I can’t really blame them for that. Her shenanigans were pretty WTF-worthy.
Apart from the few seconds Rarity had to use her magic to rescue herself i’m more surprised one of the other mane 6 hasn’t kept an eye on her to make sure she doesn’t get into trouble, some friends they are if even one of them was watching Rarity then she’d be okay.

How was it implied that Blue Nile isn’t working alone?

Would it really surprise you?
Discord is the worst kind of jerk if he’s helping out with any of this.
That, and all the sudden changes around Rarity (glasses of water and all that) suggest they wouldn’t have been able to shield her anyhow.

Kept up good work 😀 I hope rarity is safe in the end
Hmmm, are you saying that Rarity partially wants this as she’s gone one month without a Stallion?
One month without a stallion? >w<
