That was part of what I was alluding to, I suppose, yeah. Besides the infrequency thing, scenes don’t go as wide or sweeping either. Pan shots of town hall, the street that spans from the edge of town to the stream and bridge, those countless sequences of characters running back and forth between all the damn landmarks. Conversely, yeah, most scenes in Canterlot take place on the Flinstones set. >w<

Is huge. The castle, Twilight’s district, shops, restaurants, race course, caverns. We don’t always get the same sense of scope like we get from Ponyville, plus it’s not seen that often, but yeah. :3
Yes, but they are always focus from close, we never got a Canterlot image from far away that includes something more than the castle.
