Crona’s gender is kind of a running gag, they call her both “he” and “she” on different occasions in response to fans asking about her. I prefer to think of her as a her too, mostly because I read a really good fanfic where she was written as female made lesbians with Maka.

Gender wise, you mean? Or general “is she even human” wise?  
From what I’ve gathered, Crona’s gender wasn’t exactly explained (I just view her as a her out of preference). She’s also Medusa’s (biological? adopted?) daughter, who had her blood replaced with the melted weapon, Ragnarok, who bullied Crona constantly.
