Trixie don’t need no speciel snowflake powers or plot armour to be Interesting and fun.
She’s just a second rate magician in the company royalty, Chaos gods, national heroes and magical Prodigies.
And yet, she always tries her best, despite her fear and has a passion for the things she loves that is infectious. She’s awesome.

Actually, Trixie was arguably the bravest member of the team. Starlight Glimmer had combat experience, Thorax was familiar with the changelings and their ways, and Discord doesn’t even understand the meaning of fear. Trixie was just a common show-pony; an entertainer, not a fighter.

Trixie deliberately letting herself get caught so that her friends would have time to escape is one of the most heroic scenes in that episode.
