I don’t know what to say. FIM has had a pretty rigid obsession with groups of six. Even worse, it seems to me that many male bronies neglect Spike themselves.

I am one of those men who could never wear a T-shirt featuring only the Mane 6. It has to include Spike, or else I feel left out.

If there’s any way to explain the apparent plot hole, maybe it’s that Spike didn’t realize he had an Element. My work, then, automatically corrects this problem by having Spike seek his Element – out of desperation to be on equal footing with the Mane 6.

The thing is Spike was literally in firing the rainbow laser, not in crowd.
So if it was due to the friendship of others, they would be in it but that’s not the case. So Spike being part of firing the rainbow laser meant something else. Sadly season 10 ignored this and apparently pretended it didn’t happen.

I do wonder if Luna and Celestia will be touched on?
Given how the show’s final gave them a dirty sendoff.
Especially with how they weren’t included in the show’s final rainbow laser.
Yes, they are no longer connected to the Elements but they should have been included anyway. Like they were the first users and their cutie marks were on the tree of harmony. Like just because they lost their connection doesn’t mean all that other stuff should be rendered moot.
Heck it comes off as once Luna and Celestia lose their connection to the elements, that was it, they’re NOTHING. Like just placeholders the tree of harmony used and toss away when the REAL “chosen ones” showed up.

In the Season 9 finale, as you recall, it wasn’t just the Element bearers saving the day. A great army of creatures harnessed the magic of friendship. Therefore, Spike didn’t necessarily have to be an official Element bearer.

In my own work, Spike starts meditating in the hopes of discovering his own Element.

Once he believes, discovering the Element is easy. Finding out what it stands for is the hard part.

Overall, Season 10 begs for a Season 11 to resolve some nagging issues. I would welcome a Season 11 if it satisfied these essential goals:

While the season 9 finale sort of fixed that by including him in the final rainbow laser, apparently season 10 undid that by essentially ignoring the fact Spike should be a bearer now.

It seems that Spike must feel belittled by the Mane 6. As a Spike fan, it’s easy for me to see how. There are subtle and not-so-subtle things that could make Spike feel like a second-class friend.
