If Spoiled Milk isn’t appearing in The Perfect Pear, then Chantal Strand (I think that’s her name?) isn’t in this season at all. Cadance probably isn’t counted for the same reason the Cake Twins look younger than Flurry Heart.

I kinda did that too, but admittedly I don’t mind the canon parents, as they’re pretty cool too.  
I remember a fic where “Posey” was regarded as Fluttershy’s aunt.
 
I kinda wish they’d do more callbacks/homages to G1. I’m still waiting for Scorpan to appear. (Unlikely, unless they can find an interesting way to bring back Tirek. I must add, I was happy they redid him.)

I had headcanoned all the Mane Six as children of their previous generations’ counterparts (Shy & Posey, Pinkie & Surprise, etc) pretty much since 10/10/2010. Though I’m happy with the parents they all got (except AJ, who doesn’t have any parents yet in the show.)  
Death being regarded in “Sesami Street” worked. Just as long as they don’t overdo it.

We’re missing Applejack’s cereal mother, ‘cause she’s never showed up in the show.  
Though @bunnyman ’s idea of making an episode about death, grief, loss and how to deal with those things would be a good thing for Hasbro to do, ‘cause MLP is still a children’s show.
