For further emphasis, It may be like the song “Weasel Stomping Day” Which some people - Myself included - Were confused at when they first heard it. “That’s supposed to be funny?” “Not necessarily.”
@pete_cutlit: Then let me rephrase it for you: she believes that everypony downright despise her. That’s the thing that’s bothering her, wishing that the general stance on her would be at least neutral.
And again, I’m NOT talking about ALL alcoholics. Just about Berry. So even if she sought popularity and attention, so what?
I like TriteBristle’s Berry Punch interpretation better than most others. Most other comics Ive seen with her simply portray her as a raving drunk with the occasional lesbian antics, meant mostly to be laughed at.
@pete_cutlit: You completely misunderstood it. Her drinking habit has little to do with her wishing to be cared about by others.
She’s outgoing, confident on the outside, but feels misunderstood and yearns for affection in the inside. It’s not popularity that she wants, but a simple hug.
I’m not portraying all people who happen to consume lots of alcohol. I’m merely portraying my interpretation of this particular pony.
