I was bored yesterday so I checked out the comments on the “Cupcakes” post on EqD.
 
1- Yes, people are still commenting on it, even after over a year and a half
 
2- You can see a bit of the evolution of the fandom’s psyche going through the comments. People become a bit more accepting of it as time progresses.

What’s confounding is that in the original fic, Pinkie was poofy-haired, cheery, and disturbingly in-character, rather than the straight-haired hallucinating emo in the show and that the fandom seems to think she is.
