Because the fandom believe than a movie, being seen with bad eyes by all school and stop a fight between humane6 is enough to achieve the glorification. Defeat three sirens is very important too. I like Sunset, but I like also the psychotic side of Starlight Glimmer.

I think the reason Sunset gets a lot more love than Starlight is while Sunset’s reasoning was….completely moronic, she at least got punished for her actions and the second film showed her gradually become accepted again. Starlight…was just forgiven very easily. Although to be fair, she struggled with being forgiven too easily.
 
At this point, people will just never be satisfied.
 
But hey, least we don’t have CR! ruining everything again.

I really don’t understand why the fandom is able to accept Sunset Shimmer basically becoming totally saint like in one movie…. but has a hard time accepting Starlight for actually having a gradual progression to becoming a better pony.

Starlight’s episodes were almost all really solid though… it was Applejack and Rainbow Dash who had a rough time in S6. And Twilight I guess but her issue was less bad episodes and more basically only getting spotlight in ONE and that one was fine.
