Tho to be homest i find it pitiful how outside of his dA comments (and considering how ban happy he is i wonder how many critics he has banned) almost no one has anything nice to say about him

I would imagine the claim is more about for new sellers rather than artists; things like ‘focus on selling just one thing’ or ‘stock lots of things that you see other sellers with because you know they’d sell’
Things that might sound reasonable to a newbie but just don’t really hold up in the real world.
@EOWDT
Toxic brags about giving advice to beginning artist but someone with his level of skills shouldn’t give advice to anyone so we can say he gives bad advice.

As for horse hooves on human legs, YES PLZ. It makes me uncomfortable in various ways.
Depends on how they’re drawn for me. Sometimes they can look ok, sometimes they can look off, especially when they try to fuse humanized, and horse legs together. Then we end up with weird jointed ankles, or bird alien legs. I think they do that to make ‘em look more pony-like, or so they look less like just pony heads on human bodies.
I try to do it more cartoonishly, with more human legs, and make the hooves a bit foot-like so it’s not so freaky. Though, I don’t draw as much pony art as I’d like too.
@EOWDT
Despite his faults, I wouldn’t start spreading rumors about the guy.
@EOWDT
I would take that with a grain of salt. Toxic tells a lot of people things, but they rarely listen to him. There are few times where Toxic-Mario is at a convention, where he isn’t vomiting words on anyone who will stand his presence.
Simply put however, he doesn’t stand out in the vendor halls that even let him in anymore. And there’s far many more great artists and vendors there for a newbie to talk to. Even if he were actively trying to sabotage the newer ones, any negative advice given would be countered out by positive from the visually more successful ones.
@10art1
That is astoundingly scummy, and I’m sorry you went through that.
Selling a shit product is one thing. Selling a shit product when you KNOW it’s shit, and not caring that you’re ripping people off (and then having the audacity to treat your customers and fans like garbage) is another.

It kind of reminds me of last Ciderfest, when I was selling body pillows and Toxic was selling some too. Mine were made of high quality 2WT (the soft stretchy fabric you’re suppsoed to make dakis from), and had my art on it specifically designed for a body pillow, whereas toxic had cheap shit canvas fabric (which he admitted that it’s not even good for cuddling, it’s more like for decoration), he rescales and crops his regular print art for the pillows, and sells his for a higher price than mine.
That’s the kind of person we’re dealing with. I try to stay out of drama, but I am so disappointed at someone who was my idol and inspiration when I was starting out drawing, to see how far he’s fallen. His art has actually managed to get worse over the 4 years I’ve known him. I really hope he ends up cleaning up his act properly like Drawponies has.
If you’re going to trace a pose try tracing something that isn’t popular? Like some obscure porn video or obscure modeling video on youtube or some other -tube website. Or you could, ya know, get good.
@InLucidReverie
The original anime, Squid Girl, has her as a humanized squid so her ‘hair’ really is tentacles that move on their own - sort of like Medusa - and her hat is part of her in ways the show never explained. It was a pretty silly story that I watched just because the main character was cute. I’m shallow that way.

i would have also noted how the non sclera section of the eye is wayyy to small, it almost looks like she has been to vietnam and seen some shit.
