By the way, yes, regardless of legality I know it’s massively lazy. No pro artist should be lifting designs straight from another artist without credit.
@dynamicv
Guess what: it’s still plagiarism

Not exactly mad, but more dissapointed that Fosgitt is still just lifting things he sees on google wholesale. You have to admit it’s pretty weird that Pencils got rejected from being an artist to “not meeting the standards” when art like this regularly happens in the comic.
Top left is a simplified example of a horse’s leg. Next to it are a few more stylised examples of how those bones bend. Key points to note are relative straightness of the lower leg, the way it bends, and the presence of the calcaneus which forms the lump that a lot of people mistakenly take as the position of the ankle joint. THe joint, as you can see, is to the front of the leg.This affects how the leg moves. The ponies on the show are designed with this in mind, simplified as they are – their legs bend and move like horse legs. This rule is only “broken” on the rare occasions when they turn to noodles, but even then the motion is informed by that underlying anatomy.Lower left is how Fosgitt draws a leg. There is no ankle joint, there is just a single bone with a 90 degree bend. This is especially visible when he draws the ponies bipedal (which is often) and when he draws them sitting down on things: the leg looks unnatural and deformed.
