draw hands larger than you think they are (put the heel of your palm on your chin and touch your forehead. hands are big), and draw heads wider than the neck (avoid ovals; draw a sphere and add a jaw to it)

At this scale, she’s 100 cm (3ft 3’) to the withers and 160cm (5ft 3’) to the top of her head, at a weight of around 185kg (410lb). So she’s still not a large pony by any means. I just like this scale because the ponies are large enough for a human to ride comfortably on them but not so large they struggle to live in a human scale environment. Mostly.
