Description
Pommejean is the best pun name ever. And she ain’t uncute, either.
AJ’s fancy-speakin’ identical twin is @tjpones‘ fault.
This wasn’t the first one that tried to kiss her (there were others off screen).
There, the problem is solved.
sigh
Your mother. Although, as somepony stated, Texans and Southerners use the word differently… The whole thing is moot since “y’all” ain’t a real word… “Ain’t” ain’t a word either. Oh, whatever. XD

hahahahahahaha
Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three rights make a left. ;)
use of ‘‘y’all’’ as a singular dates back to the 19th century
The use of copper/zinc pennies as a replacement for burned out fuses dates back to the 19th Century, too; that doesn’t make it correct.
@Blissey1
Use a word the wrong way enough, and it will eventually be considered right!
keep politics in the political threads you dirty liberal communist nazi feminist
Like how babe means chick, but it originally meant baby… And chick meant infant chicken… And pussy meant feline. God, I hate languages. XD

No. It’s “usually” because some people are wrong. This is like the “literally” thing being turned into “literally means literally except when used by someone that doesn’t know what literally means”.
No, I’m saying that it’s used in both the singular and the plural sense. He’s saying that the singular is by definition incorrect, and I’m offering evidence that use of “y’all” as a singular dates back to the 19th century.
I grant that it’s usually used as a plural, but “usually” =/= “always.”

So… basically you’re saying he’s right.
I mean, article says that “souterners”, aka AJ, never use it for singular, while non-southerners, aka east coast people that want to argue its use as singular being valid, say it can be used for singular.
This is pretty much saying 2+2=5, then going to wikipedia to show that there’s a small contingent of art majors that agree with that.
Wikipedia disagrees with you.
“Singular usage
There is long-standing disagreement about whether y’all has primarily or exclusively plural reference.[4] The debate itself extends to the late nineteenth century, and has often been repeated since.[10] While many Southerners hold that y’all is only properly used as a plural pronoun, strong counter evidence suggests that the word is also used with a singular reference,[2][9][12][13] particularly amongst non-Southerners.[14]”
It can be either, depending on context
Sure, if the context is “using it correctly” vs. “using it incorrectly”. “Y’all” is a contraction of “you all”; it is specifically a plural form of “you”, the only time it is appropriate to address an individual as “y’all” is if they are acting as a representative of a group.
@Zharkaer
she uses it this way in the show
Imagine that, a writing team of mostly BC Coasties managed to pooch a dialect mostly used by Newfies and Bluenosers in their own country and Gulf Coast Americans who might as well be Martians for all the culture we have in common.
The point is moot anyway because she uses it this way in the show.
No it can’t. However, because all words are made up anyway, I can’t imagine why I’d care too much. >w<
APPLEJACK SPEAKS ENGLISH, NOT FANCY
“Y’all” is like “they.” It can be either, depending on context.
