Cinch would probably have been the star pupil of Crystal Prep during the tenure of the previous principal.  
Twilight was to be courted as Cinch’s successor. Of course, that didn’t come to plan.

I can see a scenario where they can introduce Human Sunset or Starlight Glimmer into the films.
 
Imagine said characters entering the Crystal Prep Academy and enlist there. Excels and quickly becoming the new Star Pupil in the school. Principal Cinch, mind full of revenge on Canterlot High and Human Twi for her betrayal, sets up another competitive vent with her new secret weapon which is the new star student and the device Twilight used to trap magic, which Cinch somehow recovered. Conflict ensues, and this time they would have managed to figure out on how to utilize the magic in their arsenal. Shadow Five along with Human Glimmer/Sunset. Until it’s down to a match between Human Twi and Glimmer/Sunset. FINAL MAGICAL ATTACK!!!!!!! Villain gets defeated and reformed, Cinch’s plan fouled again. But this time, instead of leaving CPA for CHS like what Human Twi did, Human Glimmer/Sunset decided to stay with CPA seeing how badly their academy needs Friendship and all.
