Description
Bunsen points to one of the nearby rugs laying everywhere on the floor.
“Sit and enjoy the show, sonny.”
Emerald and Ruby sit down as Bunsen takes to the altar. Another shaman joins him and they discuss something between themselves.
The colt takes this opportunity to say how inspiring those words were that Bunsen said.
“I guess so? What he said about inspiration and stuff… That could really apply to anything you want to do well couldn’t it?”
Emerald shrugs but doesn’t say anything. The colt wonders if Ruby will understand how close she was to getting what Bunsen said.
Speaking of Bunsen, he takes his staff and pounds it once onto the floor of the raised platform, causing a hushed silence to ring through the room.
From the entrance some zebra shaman carry a basin between them down towards the altar. The basin is large, empty, and appears to be made of brass. As they walk, the zebras chant and… Dance? Emerald would describe it more as hauntingly graceful convulsing.
They place the altar near the steps to the raised platform. Bunsen, who unseen by Emerald grabbed some potions from the altar, hands some bottles to each of his helpers. He places his staff into the basin, and then all at once the shaman uncork the bottles.
Billowing streams of colored smoke begin to emit from the potions, and the shaman begin to dance again, causing the gas to swirl into a multi-color fog. Somehow, Bunsen grabs hoof-fulls of the gas and throws it into the basin.
The gas hits the basin and explodes upwards like fireworks, morphing into various things as it goes. First it’s some sort of group of either ponies or zebras, then it turns into a muscly horned creature, then and eye, and then it wafts like fire, after that the smoke splits many different ways, once again appearing like ponies.
“Wow, this is so cool!” Ruby says, nudging Emerald.
