Given the reshelving in the beginning of “To Where and Back Again,” it seems safe to say that the castle is serving as Ponyville’s library.

The whole series, they never showed a pony go in there to check out or return a book. It’s easy to forget it was a library when that status was an informed attribute.
What did happen to the new library? Ever since the village library got blown up, we’ve all been like “Oh poor Twilight, losing the place she was staying in for like a year”, and forgetting the fact that the village no longer has a public library.
At some point had to be like: “If I quit, I look like a total jackass. If I win, I look like a total jackass.” and “Why did she have to be such a turd sandwich?”

Because voters are selfish, entitled, have unrealistic expectations, and always want someone else to pay for all the stuff they want for themselves?

I’d guess her new castle is now the unofficial new one.
In the same panel if we count the potholes on Main Street.

“The ring came off my pudding can!”
They thought we wouldn’t notice.
