Plus it’s a completely different Twilight to boot, and Timber’s basically doing the same thing Flash did only slightly more forced.
And again, if Flash and Timber were women, no one would give a shit, they’d just ship them like no tomorrow!
Moreover, it’s funny how these psycho-bronies are praising Timber like he has come to rescue their waifu. He’s taking the girl for himself, not for them.
@darknessRising24
Or maybe he’s a shitty, disgusting character who has no purpose or personality beyond hitting on the main characters.
Sudden forced love interests are some of the worst characters in fiction and drag the character that their bound to down in quality as well.
@phoenix alpha 1
A) They can’t stand that their waifu got a man that’s not them or their OC.
B) They’re a bunch of hypocrites who believe he’s “bland” despite happily creating personalities and giving character to other BG/side-ponies.
C) They only hate him because he’s a confirmation that Twilight is straight and would be singing a completely different tune if Flash been introduced as a female.
@PonyPon
Romance-wise I mean, he falls for someone, only for her to leave, then has to watch her double fall for someone else, then gets brushed off by his ex. Him just because there just to be disappointed whenever he finds love isn’t a character trait, it’s just sad.
@PonyPon
Seeing someone constantly get the short end of the stick isn’t funny if said person doesn’t deserve it. And that doesn’t really count as “giving him a character”, it’s just treating him like a punching bag for the sake of appeasing the haters, which is petty and stupid.
Also, before you go on about him having “no character”, read this:
@Background Pony #3812
That is the most stupid and petty reason to hate someone I’ve ever heard. So he’s only allowed to be liked if he doesn’t have love interest? What kind of ass-backwards thinking is that?!
I could grow to like Flash if we could get a guarantee that he’d never be used for romance again and is legitimately just friends with the m7
But I doubt that would ever happen, so I’ll just continue to hold disdain for his entire existence
@halodork
I actually kinda disagree they hate him, (this is like those guys always accusing the staff of hating Spike, or something) as this movie is probably the most screen-time & dialogue he’s had sense the first movie. Despite the “shipping denied” gag, he seems to of gotten a bit closer to Sunset friendship wise, and feels a bit more human in the movie to me. I liked his line to Sunset, “We used to date, so I can tell when something is bothering you.” as it does show he is considerate of others.
Derpy patting his back could even be the writers’ way of showing him some kudos.
I haven’t watched any of these movies since Rainbow Rocks, and even I feel kinda sorry for Flash.
Maybe some sort of pizza or ice cream party with the mane cast and a few other background students as if to say “We’re still friends and everything, though none of us have any intention of dating you.”
Hasbro won’t even let the poor guy get the friendzone with anyone in the main cast, really? REALLY? That was the only thing I wanted, and even that was too much to give? (sarcastically) Isn’t friendship magic, boys and girls?
