They wanted to get rid of Flashlight, and now they put this new “perfect” guy to have Twilight fall for.

Well, to be clear, I also do think Flashlight romance is at least somewhat better written than Timber x Twilight. To be clear, at least Twilight semi gradually fallen for Flash. After rewatching previews, Human Twilight doesn’t even start to crush on Timber when he just flirts with her. No she actually starts to blush when she looks at him, when Timber is on stage and they just exchange glances. It’s essentially the cliche love at first sight, just dressed up by the writters a bit. In other words, human Twilight started to probably to crush on Timber, before they even talked. That’s not only bad writing, but also writing human Twilight rather OOC,just to have her fall for a guy…
Again, I may argue how they could write Flashlight a bit better, but at m war it wasn’t this abrupt…

Yes, but the problem is as revelead at least in the novel version of Legend of Everfree || that Sunset basucally said nothing will come out of the pony Twilight and Flash relationship, due to them being in different worlds. Curiously pony Twilight does care enough to keep contact with Sunset, showing her bond with Sunset, is stronger than her (pony Twilight’s) with Flash.||
This is another reason why many people prefer Twilight (either) with Sunset, over Twilight x Flash or Twilight X Timber.
As it was shown with above spoiler || both are fairly swallow crushes, and are essentially easy come easy to relationships/short crushes. Sunset’s relationships with Twilights on the other hand, are much more developed and deeper. ||
And this is why people like Twilight x Sunset, not just girl in girl is hot factor.
Their relationship(s), even though intended as a vert strong platonic relationships they have depth and development Twilight relationship with her designated love interests lacks, something even the writers noticed, as seen with the above spoilers.
The portal is in her castle and she has a book for contacting Sunset, they can make it work.
