After seeing Twilight carry a massive grizzly with her magic I don’t think that recoil is an issue.

Delete whole derpibooru? Ok.

That makes me think they can wrap magic around eyeballs and pluck them, or wrap it around a kitchen knife and lance a ponies brain.
 
I want to say the recoil could break through the magic, that way there is a reason for the pony to hold the gun in both hooves and load, cock, and pull the trigger with magic. Looks more badass that way. The telekenesis in the cartoon needs more visual cues, like arms, and neck channeling the magic, and not just pixie dust on the horns.

Guns with unicorns was always funny to me. I mean I can see Applejack with an AK, or Bulk Biceps with 2 Brownings, but consider the following:
 
If telekenises was balancing a gun in a magical field and the bullet fired, would the gun break free from the telekinesis and fly the same speed in the other direction (back at the unicorn)?
 
Would the bullet with such little mass trace out of the field only to get sucked back in?
 
Can’t unicorns like viciously swing blades around, melt peoples skulls, and Darth Vador choke people with the same magic? or teleporting inside of them to splatter their guts everywhere? Turn them into stone and smash them? (Sombra did this, but when he turned good he claimed it was possible to reconstruct his victim)
