I actually brought up Shining because there is a scene in a recent teaser with a small number of backgrounds and one is of Twilight’s room, which makes me think one or more of her family will be in a scene near the beginning before Twilight takes a bus from her home in the city to Canterlot.

In all fairness, he did only have like one or two lines to work with, and he didn’t do anything overtly jerkish. On the other hand, given everything else we saw about Crystal Prep, it’s totally possible that he is in fact just a legit jackass. It could really go either way at this point. They basically gave Shining the Flash Sentry treatment in Friendship Games. He was there, but that’s about it. Heck, I think Flash might have actually had more character development than Shining did in that movie, and that’s…wow. Yeah.
 
As for him and Cadance, it’s hard to say. He’s an alumni rather than a student, so there shouldn’t be any issues with a faculty-student relationship type of situation. And he’s clearly older than Sci Twi and her friends, so even if their group is on the younger end of what you could expect from high school seniors I can’t see him as being a minor, so there are no real issues there. They definitely could date, but as for whether or not they would/are…meh. Dunno.

Pinkie Pride. It’s her birthday and the anniversary of when she moved to Ponyville, and we see her cake with twenty one candles. Of course, we only see it from one side, which suggests she might actually be a fair bit older than that. Kind of another interesting little tidbit in the show that implies ponies just have longer lifespans than humans in general.

Yeah, the ages in the human world versus Equestria are…kind of random. There doesn’t seem to be any real consistency in how they determined who would be what age in the human world. The CMC seem to be older than their pony counterparts. The Mane 6 and Celestia/Luna are clearly younger. Granny Smith is portrayed as being elderly in both, but clearly older than Celestia/Luna in the human world while obviously younger in Equestria. Cheerilee is implied to be in the same age range as the Mane 6 in Equestria (in Cheese’s flashback, she has the same young design as the others), yet she’s an adult in the human world…which actually might just make her the most accurate-to-Equestria character we’ve seen in the movies.
 
We can sort of get an idea of how each individual compares to their counterparts, but there really doesn’t seem to be any standard age difference. Whether they’re younger, older, or about the same pretty much seems to depend on what role the writers wanted the human versions to play.

They may not have an official age, but basic logic tells us that the human versions of the characters are around eighteen in Equestria Girls. Sunset Shimmer appears to be in the same class as the other five. In EG we see three pictures of Sunset winning the crown at previous Fall Formals, meaning that the one she and Twilight are competing for is her fourth. That indicates that unless Canterlot High inexplicably holds multiple Fall Formals every fall, or the confirmed genius Sunset Shimmer has been held back a fair few grades, they’re in the fall period of their final year of high school. Students in that grade are typically about eighteen years old, maybe seventeen at the lowest unless they’ve skipped several years.
 
They’re older in the main universe, of course (Dash is confirmed to be at least twenty one as of season four, with Fluttershy seemingly being the oldest of the group based on her more developed appearance in their flashbacks), but I’m pretty sure that rules about age when it comes to porn on this site don’t apply to images of ponies. So I guess that’s not really relevant here either way.

my headcannon is also that the equestria mane 6 are old teens/young adults,them being fully grown adult women just doesnt fly with me,thats too old for how they act,so its 18~20 years old ponies for me.

They are of unknown age, in EQG they are in high school despite being portrayed as being younger in the regular universe. Lets just say they are age-fluid, that’s the hot new suffix now isn’t it?  
When they are just hanging they might be 16, when they are a horse they might be 10 but when they do lewd they are always 18+.
