@Keith Mowz
overall I'm glad we moved past it as well, but the romhacks (as well as the emulators) are so much more finicky, especially with the touchscreens on everything these days. I tried a DS emulator once and I ended up controlling my movement with my right foot so I could keep my right hand on the mouse at all times.

@Greenjack
I'm glad we moved past it. Gen 5 tried to keep the sprite aesthetic going and it looked like ass when they tried to keep them animated which INSTANTLY made it look dated and low-rez/low-quality. The whole game in retrospect feels like someone hacked an alpha version of X&Y that still had strictly tile-locked movement and pasted low rez .gif animations over the actual models.

I kinda wish we were still in the age of sprite-based pokemon games so we could have an easy romhack with celestia and luna in the games.
