Exactly. Just with the inclusion of Chris Thorndyke and Sonic’s friends encouraging him to just surrender and turn himself in, especially when it is mentioned he is being incarcerated at Prison Island.
 
That convinces Sonic to willingly surrender to G.U.N. and the police, since it might prove useful to him with finding info about Shadow there.

Nah, but that does remind me of the Sonic X adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2 when Shadow warps away with Chaos Control, leaving Sonic to face the Station Square Police Department and G.U.N. alone, and willingly surrender to them.

Is it weird that I thought of that one scene in Sonic Adventure 2, where Shadow bails from Sonic and leaves him to deal with G.U.N.?

Sorry, I don’t think I have any vehicles in Garry’s Mod yet that are labeled “Animal Control” on the sides. Just police vehicles like the Rockport Police Department ones from Need For Speed Most Wanted and the cruisers, SWAT Enforcers, FBI, and military vehicles from Grand Theft Auto Vice City.
