That actually does seem like a mistake, but not for the worst reasons. It definitely seemed as if there simply was no time to include her human self in a scene in the last two movies. With the stories structured the way they were, the two were entirely focused on the mane plot, and as such is also why there wasn’t enough time to focus on the Shadowbolts in the third. As I see the formula so far, it is only manageable with four central figures: Sunset, the presumed star of the series, one or more Twilight’s, whom while interchange between heroine, unintentional villain, and supporting, have their constants in their Sailor Moon Bionis Saiyan form(s), the Ponyville Five, temporarily known as the Canterlot Five, and the villainess(es), and as mentioned it was a bad idea to make five of them, even three ‘cause hell, I and several other fans couldn’t effectively describe Aira Blaze in more than one minute. What role a supposed Human Sunset would fill doesn’t concern me ‘cause the Twilight thing I listed could apply to both of them at the same time with little effort and so could the same be done to Sunset… Maybe not all four at once.
Ultimately, I’m not too surprised Human Sunset hasn’t surfaced, and it shouldn’t be an issue in the long run seeing as Equestria Girls is largely akin to Barbie and Bratz movies in that there are a shitton of them… Or will be, future tense… I guess I’m hoping. ;)

Why the fuck shouldn’t their be the same as them? They’re counterparts, they are literally the same characters just from another dimension. Why the hell should they be characterised differently?
@Background Pony #DE54
How hard is it to grasp that this show and it’s spinoffs are not made for bronies? Why should we expect the staff to cater to an audience that isn’t their target demographic? And as for your comment about meghan, not only was that not her decision, and not only was flash’s involvement in the second movie lessened, but that is very dismissive and ignores several other aspects of her writing.
But it’s wrong. Still wrong. The alicornization was at least sort of “corrected” by giving more depth to the whole let’s transform the MC to sell more toys “twist”. As it was pointed out: Spike being a dog is wrong because they bring in more and more non-pony characters in the EG universe as humans, yet Spike is a dog.
This is an ongoing inconsistency, an open wound on the universe, a mistake yet to be corrected.
@Background Pony #5891
I don’t know what that means. The pony five are same individuals as the horseman five from two separate dimensions. Think of the slightly different hairstyles/manestyles as Scary Monsters and The World.
I’m not trying to troll, but those ice cream scoops… they remind me of something. What’s up with those shapes? They don’t look like scooped ice cream, or soft serve…
@Background Pony #5891
Maybe so, but at least Haber cares about Spike and tried to give him some good character development as a dragon and as a dog. All Megan cares about is Flashlight.
I think both Haber and Larson should write episodes and movies together, they both know what the fans really want.
@ChuymaruZ
The other 5 are virtually the same because zero effort was put into actually differentiating them; they’re more or less cardboard cutouts of the mane six because McCarthy wanted them to be just clones of the pony six without actually trying to differentiate them in the first movie for simplicity’s sake.
Second movie rolled around, and it would be very hard to try and pull them out of their clone modes and differentiate them so she just kept coasting along.
The third movie occured, and well, by this point its WAY too late to try and differentiate the other 5 since they’d established them as cardboard cutout clones already. Just have to roll with it.
@SeraphimDawn
actually, Im very interested, why the twilights are the only different? why the other girls are the same except twilight? and thats make me think, will the human sunset be different to the pony sunset?
I wonder if Equestria Twilight and Human Twi are going to crossover in the upcoming EqG?
That would be nice.
Note that these two are completely different characters with different consciences. Despite having the same/similar aesthetics, same names, and theoretically same personalities.
Strangely however, there are sharp differences between Pony Twi and Human Twi in terms of personalities.
Pony Twi is a lot braver, more peppier, and social than Human Twi, who is more or less like Fluttershy. Reclusive, cautious, and soft spoken. Both are awkward in their own ways.
Sometimes it’s kind of difficult to believe they are supposed to be the same character.
@Mike
Oh I understand, and I don’t blame him for being irritated. I just think that if there’s no hateful words going back and forth, there’s no need to be upset about it. But that’s just my opinion. Not trying to tell anyone how to think or to not be upset about it.
@noobiestbrony
In my opinion, it’s similar to Twilicorn drama, old news, but people still like to stir up stuff about it, and act like it’s going away anytime soon.
@patec
I’ve sort of thought some of these users entered the fanbase later, ’13, ’14, et cetera, with only marginal context, and other users simply have the personality of vocal extremists akin to Republican presidential candidates in ‘08 or Christian Chandler. Michael Bluth probably said it best: “The typical American male [or man of other Western nations] experiences a perpetual state of adolescence, y’know? Arrested development.” ^3^
@patec
With that logic, we shouldn’t bring up any events in history given that they happened centuries ago.
It’s a conversation piece. People who haven’t met before (like me and these BP’s) obviously haven’t talked about this with each other yet. So why not? We’re not being rude, we’re not insulting anyone, we’re not taking anything away from this image. The fact that it happened 3 years ago is irrelevant given that the EqG series is still going with the noticeable hole in the reasoning intact. Is it really bad enough for you to be this upset about it? I mean no disrespect when I say that, I just feel your reaction is unjustified.
@thps48
For me it’s just being tired of seeing the same crap over and over and over and over gain. How long has it been now since Equestira Girls 1? 3 years! three years
And yet people STILL feel the need to spam comment sections with this stuff. Is there really anything left that hasn’t been said a thousand times already?
@thps48
Not always. I can understand why they’re upset, but sometimes I feel that if the comments aren’t hateful, derogatory or otherwise uncivilized, I think it’s okay if the mods let the problem resolve itself and only step in when things go too far.
