This is highly unlikely, though, because geldings have less stamina and willpower. Soarin would be more submissive and slow without his junk. (bad for flying)

When their equipment goes back up into their body, I don’t think it would matter for aerodynamics. By the way, castration isn’t as funny as you think.

… so I had two reactions to this one.
 
Reaction #1: Hmm… I’m not sure I buy that explanation. They all have flight suits, after all, which already seem to be designed to keep them streamlined and minimize drag. I can’t imagine that something as drastic as castration would offer any sort of substantial performance gain. Heck, if it did, the men’s Olympic swimming team would have a pretty dark secret.
