Not true, as both Haber and Rudell(sic?) have said they’d like to do something along the lines of Sunset returning to Equestria, even if it’s only temporarily, but the hold-back is from Hasbro (from what I can gather). All we know is that if Sunset returns to Equestria, it’ll be within an EQG movie and not within the show.

I meant the in-universe Daring Do books. (I didn’t even know they were a thing IRL.)  
The implication was there that Daring continues to write the stories, which means her “villains” need to stick around.

You mean the Daring Do books? Since that’s Expanded Canon, I neglected them. If I include Expanded Canon, some of the characters on the list change slightly, and LOTS more get added!
 
The chimera could be a wanderer, as it’s odd for it to live in the fire swamp, but currently it should be assumed it lives there as there is no evidence to the contrary.

I’ve always suspected that the “Pony of Shadows” was actually Tirek.  
Ahuizotal is technically part of an ongoing series. Same with Cabalaron (sic).  
The chimera can be assumed to still be living in the fire swamp.

When has the writers said they want to do this?  
The people running the show are committed at keeping both series separated.  
I dunno about the people working these movies.

Yeah, but with most of the other villians, we know what happens to them.  
With the exception of Chrysalis, the Sirens are the only enemies that just drop off of the radar completely after they’ve been defeated. Context clues suggest that they’re in a pretty bad place, too, so it’d be nice to have some idea of what they’re going through.

But they haven’t been redeemed yet, if at all. Plenty of characters are defeated and not seen again.

Honestly, any sort of closure with the Sirens would be nice.

If sunset returns to Equestria, then it’s only fair if the Sirens return as well. Equestria is their home too.

It’s one of the last remaining dangling plot threads, and the one I want to see wrapped up more than almost any other.
