And some people wonder why it took large amount of people, hundreds million dollar to billion dollar and years for studio like Pixar to make single 3d animated movie.
Something about that smile bothers me… Like, it’s kind of creepy? I don’t think Pinkie has a perpetual smile on her face, even in the show. Pretty sure she’d yawn normally… But that’s just my opinion, feel free to ignore…
@Firebrand96
Pinkie Pie’s a great role model (in some cases). I used to think I related more to Twilight and Shy, but then I found myself having more fun playing as Pinkie and decided to adopt some of her into my own personality.
@Cirrus Light
Stuff like this is why Pinkie Pie was always a strange source of inspiration for me. I spent so much time in high school and college obsessed with getting good grades, obtaining a job, and generally focusing solely on my own self-interest, that I forgot what it was like to go out of my way to help others, make people smile, and be a lot less neurotic and materialistic in general. While I can’t say I was depressed (at least, not all the time), I was much more likely to wake up with a smile when I had that positive mindset.

Poor health and people trying to compete against each other in the market are what have wronged you - and who can be blamed for poor health, and everyone doing the same thing you are - competing for a job?
And it’s not that people just say “screw the poor”, more often they just don’t believe helping them directly is actually helping.
Take student loans for example. It sounds awful to be opposed to, and want student loans to stop existing. Don’t they care about poor students trying to get in college? Well, the problem is if student loans exist, then colleges can jack up their tuition prices and people will still be able to afford college, so it breaks the supply/demand system and artificially inflates the price of going to college, and at the end of the day, just makes it harder and more expensive. That isn’t an argument I heard from a rich person - that’s the argument I’ve heard from someone who had to stop paying for phone service for a month because he couldn’t afford it because he had to pay for his stolen motorcycle to get freed from the impound (the motorcycle he got because he couldn’t afford a car).
To say “not all of them are so bad” still isn’t very accurate because it’s saying there’s a “them” at all.
Yeah, I fall into the trap of blaming a group of people for the problems of society, but I do know that we can’t fix society by just punishing said group, especially when said group is not composed solely of corrupt individuals. Corruption and extremism is an universal problem every group shares. I do find that we show more kindness and compassion, life gets less cynical. It’ll never be perfect, but it’s nice to have the confidence that if someone works hard and falls, they can depend on others to help them get up so they can try again.
I honestly just feel cheated out of my future by family, poor mental health, and a job market that is way too competitive. I felt that I worked hard and tried to do what I was supposed to do to make myself shine, but no-one seems to care about my achievements because everyone seems so geared towards profit-seeking and exploitation, not ensuring a good future for everyone. It’s why I get cynical against the upper class. It always feel like they have the advantage and are always changing the rules to make it harder on the rest of us to succeed. Doesn’t help I live in a part of the country dominated by Republicans, who are infamous for turning their backs on the poor and disabled unless they absolutely have to. Been stuck depending on an abusive person for my medical expenses and keep racking up hospital debt thanks to that.
So, yeah, it’s not been a happy last few years for me, so I lose perspective of the complexities of life to blaming those that I feel have wronged me.
