Cadence is laughing because he thinks he has a chance with any of them. I’m kidding, she knows he will end up with Twilight so she finds it cute that he is getting so worked up.
@MetaKnight145
That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. In one episode they built up Starlight and Spike’s relationship better than they ever did Spike’s and Rarity’s in the entire show.
@Tragiclady
Spike and Sweetie Belle only interact once in the show. I think Spike being with ship Rarity, Starlight Glimmer and finally Ember makes a lot sense than SpikeBelle.

I’m 50% Tumblr by volume and I’d say Sweetie Belle would be a good choice since she has a good personality and I think she and Spike would get along very well. Starlight Glimmer has powerful magic (an important factor in any decision) and has a good personality after turning… well good.
Spike is still free to pursue any romance he likes or even none at all if he so chooses :o
I think really Spike can’t compare to the relation between Starlight and Sunburst and even then I think after that you have Twilight who’s a pretty strong wild card.
So it’s more about Starlights competition than the actual relation between her and Spike. Then again People ship Spike with practically everyone.
Since Spike has been living under the dominance of the female gender his entire life, clearly what he needs is another strong independent woman who can push him around but still be cute. Ember is the obvious choice.
Supporting male and Leading female makes best couple. Calling Spike a ‘support’ is not a slight against him, in fact, Spike being the support means he’s compatible with overly strong and dominant female characters, like Ember.
Put it simply, in a relationship, Spike will provide the emotional support and assistance (like he usually does anyway) and Ember will carry the team towards material success. Feminism 10/10

Well Dr. Killjoy, going by show logic only the married couples have any relationship beyond friendship. Therefore you don’t have anything to really worry about :3
Actually, considering that dragons have long life spans and that Ember is in fact a dragon, assuming she has aged normally, she could be well over a few hundred years. Remember, 100 years to a dragon is no different than an afternoon nap.
@LadyTheRainicorn
>weakest
>Starlight and Spike had better interactions in the season 6 premiere than Rarity has had with him throughout the entire show let alone the lack of any real interaction between him and Sweetie

pros and cons of each relationship:(not listing every pro and con, just a brief overview)
Sweetie: Pros, Roughly the same age as Spike, Related to Rarity (could count as a con as well). Cons, not a lot of chemistry between them (at least to me),they are different species(this counts for all the ponies, so I’ll only address it once).
Starlight: Pros, Good chemistry in the season opener. Cons, Sunburst and not a lot of time together(so far)
Rarity: Pros, established love interest and good chemistry. Cons, the relationship between them is one sided and possibly the largest age gap of the four.
Ember: Pros, everything. Cons, she might be a one off character we won’t see for a while.
