Dude, I feel people who ’ship MLP characters with all their best friends, enemies, relatives, pets, characters they never met, characters they briefly stood next to, ect. are not really any better then the crossover shippers, I say.  
Frankly, I find that to be a huge double-standard with ‘shipping in the fanase, as some of those honestly look stranger to me then “SoniDash.” (Tho’ I prefer ‘em as platonic friends, I’m fine if people wish to ’ship ’em.)

I prefer classic Sonic, and the Sega Genesis games were the best ever, but I was always more into Tails. Too bad he never grew into an adult D:
 
I’d say MLP and Sonic both have enough characters (and fanmade characters!) for in universe shipping. But I probably just don’t know how to have fun D:

Shipping ≠ Writing romance

You don’t have to be competent if all you’re doing is reading and watching, and no one cares about comments. If you’re creating own content, however, you’ll just have to be competent writer.
