And I’m just being honest about my feelings toward his comment.
He’s not trying to change the opinions of those who like the movies. Nor does he expect someone to do so. He’s just being honest about his feelings towards EqG.
It’s not his opinions I take issue with, it’s his arguments. And don’t you think that’s a bit hypocritical, considering he appears to be trying to change the opinions of those who like the movies?
Oh, I see your point now.
As an EqG fan, I know some people are bound to hate it, and I embrace that fact. I just don’t like it when we have a petty pointless argumentation over EqG.
I agree with what you said and I hope this discussion doesn’t end badly!
???
Dude, that’s a fantastic idea… y’all hear dat?!
Dude, just let him go with his own opinions.
Again, have you even watched the movies, because, again, you’re being incredibly dismissive and judging them on superficial aspects.
I’m calling it.
Dude, be careful.
@Background Pony #5630
As an EqG fan, I respect your opinion.
Well, have fun with that.
@TexasUberAlles
There is taking cues from popular things and there’s blatantly copying/rehashing like EQG do.EQG is soulless and kinda dull,there’s a lot of flashy gimmick but nothing beneath it
I won’t watch the movies or shorts because I’m so ardently opposed to filthy apes officially having anything to do with Equestria that I know I wouldn’t enjoy them, but I upvote and reblog tons of fan art and do have some toys. As long as they maintain the official disconnect between EqG and FIM without any crossovers infecting the show, I can just pretend real hard that it’s just a super popular fan animation series.
Wait, you like EqG now or something? I’m confused…
Nostalgia is a double edged sword.
Oh, I agree that there’s a very good chance that nothing plot-related from the Sony leak will end up in the movie (if you’ve ever seen the initial story treatment for Toy Story, you were probably left wondering (though gratefully) how it ended up the way it did); still, it seems the Sony person had a hard time following the story because they were unfamiliar with the series, and that’s a concern that I hope the people at Hasbro Studios and DHX will keep in mind, even if pretty much every other suggestion from Sony was, ahem, less than optimal.
bits and pieces of a proposed storyline to be gleaned from the leaked documents from Sony
Is there any actual precedent here upon which to base meaningful conjecture, though? This can’t possibly be the first time Super Secret Squirrel Top Confidential movie plans have been leaked in advance, especially not by Sony and its barneyfife internal security– what’s the track record on resemblance between leaked docs and finished product?
@ArrJaySketch
It’s a little odd to me that someone might take anything show staff says as overblown marketing
I’ve never understood this complaint either; like, what are the show/movie staff supposed to do, talk trash about the project they’re working on? Being excited about their upcoming release should be expected of them, it just doesn’t make sense to take personal offense at the idea of them promoting their own stuff.
@atalarikt
Hilariously enough, I joined the fandom because of EqG
The way that people who got into the fandom post-Season 3 seem to harbor a lot less animosity as an overall group towards EqG than fans who were around pre-S3 points pretty strongly towards most of the initial badmouthing it got being more a result of fear that it was going to be G4.5 than a result of any faults inherent to the concept. It seems to have been initially trashtalked primarily because people were looking for a reason to trashtalk it. It certainly looks like the same thing is happening to the 2017 movie now.
@David Dyster
I think they should use Grogar, the Tyrant of Tembalon
Hell yeah, Johnson– if they don’t use him in Season 6, he’d be aces for a movie villain.
@Background Pony #5630
I wasn’t exactly fond of the concept myself when it first came out, because it was indeed a transparent attempt to bite a chunk out of the Bratz and Monster High tween high school fantasy market, but continuing to hate on it for the circumstances of its inception is like deciding you hate some random person because they came from [other place] and continuing to yell at them for it no matter how cool they might turn out to be later.
@Princess♠Molestia
Texting on a roller coaster
Don’t take your cell phone on a rollercoaster, kids– nobody needs to have a Nokia surgically removed from their skull.
Not what I meant. What idiot would text on a rollercoaster? I meant that holding her hands up would prevent her from typing the script.
Given your opinion of the EqG franchise, what do you think of the bronies that genuinely like the movies?
Texting on a roller coaster.
What is this world coming to?
Things were better back in my day!
Nope, she’s holding onto the safety bars, aka typing.
You gotta hold your hands in the air on a rollercoaster.
I kinda agree, but rule zero. so reported.
Seems pretty ridiculous.
@Background Pony #5630
Have you even watched the movies, because you’re being incredibly dismissive and are only judging them on superficial aspects while glorifying the show.
