I totally agree with you, but it is a fetish and most fetishes can’t be described, explained or understood with logic. Just accept that people are weird. Also, I don’t think that using growth for comedic purposes like in this case is a bad thing.
Although I am scared to imagine what it’s like for ponies on the ground… that tail and constant earthquakes. Plus I don’t even want to imagine what happens when she eventually needs to go to a bathroom, will Equestria get a new dead sea somewhere in a valley? Eugh!
